Executive Order GA-48 and Interim Guidance
On November 19, 2024, Governor Abbott issued Executive Order GA-48 which imposes additional requirements on Texas public higher education institutions and state agencies to enhance oversight of activities involving certain foreign countries, including China, North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Russia, and Venezuela.
In response, an Interim Guidance for Purchases of Good or Services has been established to outline restrictions and procedures for purchasing activities at the University of Texas at Austin.
